Six Austrian Eurofighter Typhoons are playing a major role in the “Amadeus12” exercise that began on 7th May and runs until May 16th in the region of Allentsteig, Lower Austria. The exercise, which will be the biggest for Austria in 2012, involves around 2,300 soldiers and 51 different types of aircraft.
Lieutenant Colonel Daniele L. of the Italian Air Force has become the first Italian Typhoon pilot to reach 1,000 flight hours on the aircraft. This milestone was achieved during an Air Defence training mission flown through Tuscany’s air space recently.

Eurofighter Typhoon is the star of the first episode of the new season of “Alarm für Cobra 11 - Die Autobahnpolizei” the popular German television series. Produced by Action Concept and broadcast in Germany on channel RTL, the series has been successfully running for over 15 years and is shown in over 140 countries worldwide. The programme draws audiences from China to Mexico and Turkey to Czech Republic to name a few. In Germany, over five million viewers watch a single episode.
Air-to-air refuelling is one of the daily training activities undertaken by Eurofighter Typhoon pilots. In this picture, taken during one of those missions in January 2012, four Aeronautica Militare (Italian Air Force) Typhoons (three single seat and a twin seater), belonging to the 4° Stormo (Wing) based at Grosseto airbase, refuel from a KC-130J of the 46^ Brigata Aerea (Air Brigade) from Pisa.
