07 November 2008 - Up Next: Eurofighter campaign in Switzerland gets "hot"It was a foggy day in Central Europe when two Eurofighter Typhoons (IPA3 and GT015) flew into Emmen, situated in the heart of Switzerland, yesterday afternoon. With a combined team of pilots and ground crews by EADS, the German Air Force and the German Official Test Centre WTD-61, our part of the evaluation is now on.
A challenging and exciting task is now waiting for all team members, and we can expect that the Swiss authorities will exercise their programme with the precision of the famous watches produced there. Even though most of our readers won't understand "Schwyzerdütsch", they at least can see the enthusiasm and dedication in the smiling face of EADS Project Test Pilot Chris Worning, who expressed his satisfaction to be here and to make the evaluation a success in an interview with regional TV Station TeleTell, click on news of 6.11. Ankunft in Emmen... Pictures of the landing have been published by armasuisse, the Swiss procurement body leading the technical and operational assessment, on their homepage.
