Eurojet LogoEUROJET Turbo GmbH, based in Hallbergmoos near Munich, is the leading European military aero-engine consortium, responsible for management of the development, production, maintenance, support and sales of the new generation EJ200 engine for Eurofighter Typhoon. The shareholders of EUROJET are Avio (Italy), ITP (Spain), MTU Aero Engines (Germany) and Rolls-Royce (UK).

EUROJET Turbo GmbH is responsible for the whole EJ200 engine system and is the contact organisation for all EJ200 project activities. Each partner company is responsible for certain parts of the engine. Like the aircraft, the engine is built in four assembly lines, one in each of the partner nations. The distribution makes best use of each company’s expertise and technology.

The EJ200 engine is Europe’s advanced military turbofan engine. It has been designed to fulfil the most demanding requirements of the Eurofighter Typhoon. The EJ200 technologically supersedes its competitors, delivering the highest thrust-to-weight ratio with the most simple engine architecture. The EJ200 engine delivers highest reliability levels and provides power for multi-misson capability of the Eurofighter Typhoon. The design and technology of the engine allows for a maximum availability and minimum operating costs throughout the life of the weapon system.
