May 2011 – Cassidian Spain has appointed Luis Hernández Vozmediano, a qualified aeronautical engineer with a degree from the Technical University of Madrid (UPM) and an MBA from the San Telmo International Institute (Instituto Internacional San Telmo), as the new Head of the Eurofighter programme. Aged 56, Luis Hernández has spent virtually his entire professional career at EADS, starting in 1983 at the San Pablo plant in Seville, where he held various positions such as Head of Engineering and Head of Production. A member of EADS’ integration team in 2001, he later became heavily involved in international programmes including the Future Strategic Tanker Aircraft (FSTA), the Beriev Be-200 and KC-X. For the past few years, Luis Hernández has been Head of the KC-X programme in Europe.
