The Eurofighter Typhoon was designed as the world's most advanced swing-role combat aircraft. The Eurofighter concept has been conceived since the beginning as a multi-role/swing-role platform that would meet the exacting operational demands of the air forces of Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom. Established in 1994, the Eurofighter consortium brought together the brightest minds in European aerospace within the leading companies of each of the partner nations in order to create a world class weapon system.
